After having had the best hair-coloring experience of my life when I was in New York in September, I’ve been procrastinating doing ANYTHING that might interfere with the gorgeous color.  But I couldn’t ignore the fact that I needed my roots touched up.  I saw L’Oreal Root Rescue 10 Minute Root Coloring Kit at Target and impulsively bought it.

The application process is easy–pour the color into the developer, mix and then screw on the applicator comb-tip.  The directions tell you to punch out a hole in the box where indicated and place the small and narrow developer tube in it before mixing in the color.  If you don’t do that, the developer bottle could tip over–not the kind of mess you want!  Once the color is mixed, you just apply to dry hair and leave on for 10 minutes.  Overall, a pretty simple process.

I used almost the entire bottle of color to do my roots and I did find the comb applicator a little awkward to work with.  In terms of the color, it’s not quite a perfect match; if you look close, you can see where the roots were done.  There are currently 12 shades available.  Unfortunately, I also experienced a fair amount of itching with this product.

L’Oreal does offer a money-back guarantee on Root Rescue if you’re not satisfied.  All in all, I’m glad I tried the product, but I probably wouldn’t repurchase.

L’Oreal Root Rescue 10 Minute Root Coloring Kit retails at $7.99 and is available at drug, food and mass market retailers and online at ULTA Beauty , Beauty.com and www.lorealparis.com.
