An award-winning Indian makeup artist, Mickey Contractor has teamed up with MAC to bring a stunning collection of products specifically designed to complement oft-forgotten olive and golden complexions. It’s also the first time that MAC has created a tribute collection to a makeup artist.
“The MAC + Mickey Contractor Collection pays credit to one of Bollywood’s greats”, according to Nick Gevrelis, MAC’s Vice President of Global Product Development. The collection is actually composed of two parts: Face, which features products to create the perfect light-handed, luminous complexion and Colour, a “no-makeup”, makeup look.
The interesting thing about this collection is that you don’t have to be Middle Eastern or Indian to wear it, although that is the inspiration. I’ve been wearing several pieces of this collection regularly and loving them, including:
- The Eye Shadow X4 in Athma, which includes shades of Folie (reddish plum brown), Carbon (intense black–a longtime favorite), Jaan (a soft gold pearl) and Vivah (brown with gold pearl). The colors in this foursome can be used to create a beautiful smoky eye. $36
- Fluidline in Siahi (deep turquoise blue frost) is exquisite. This shade is really beautiful, particularly applied over a light gray or gold shadow. One of the prettiest eyeliner colors I’ve ever seen! $15
- Flesh Lipglass, which is a dirty nude brown shade–very wearable and neutral. $14.50
The MAC + Mickey Contractor Collection is available now at all MAC locations and at www.maccosmetics.com. Have you seen it yet? Planning to buy?
