bareMinerals is changing the face of eyeshadow. Again! As the company that brought mineral makeup to the masses, bareMinerals has now developed new READY™ Eyeshadow; their first entry into solid mineral eyeshadow. Read on for my thoughts….

When I first got the press release on bareMinerals READY™ Eyeshadow, I couldn’t have been more excited. I know millions of women love the loose mineral shadows that have made bareMinerals famous.  I, however, tend to like my eyeshadow solid and in pans.  I finally get my wish with READY™ Eyeshadow.

Leslie and her bareMinerals team didn’t just take the existing loose eyeshadow minerals and press them into pans.  This new solid eyeshadow is formulated with SeaNutritive Mineral™ Complex, to provide a softer, smoother revitalized eye area. The formula takes nutrient-rich algae and seaweed and adds antioxidants, cold-pressed borage oil, caffeine and cucumber. Yes–skincare technology in eyeshadow.  Lots to love about that. And, as you’d expect, no synthetic chemicals, no parabens, binders or fillers.

But what you want to know about is the color; how does it look and apply?  First of all, the eyeshadow has the look of a powder, but the feel of a cream.  The color is vibrant and blendable with rich payoff.  I can’t say enough about the READY™ Eyeshadow 2.0 duos and 4.0 quad color combinations.  They’re not only gorgeous, but I love the compact that the shadows come in also.  The compact is solid black, mirrored and feels great in the hand.

I’ve been wearing The Inspiration (above), a 2.0 duo ($20) which includes Muse and Passion, a silky pink and purple shimmer combination.  I also tested The Afterparty (pictured at top), which is a 4.0 quad ($30) that includes Cheers (oyster), Mingle (silver), Rowdy (taupe) and Lights Down (midnight shimmer). I’ve experimented with different brushes and have gotten the best results with a Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Brush (I found the MAC 239 to be too stiff). And again, the color combinations are beautiful.

bareMinerals READY™ Eyeshadow will make its debut on QVC on September 29th from 5pm-7pm PST, with a special introduction by Leslie Blodgett. You’ll be able to find READY™ Eyeshadows in October at Bare Escentuals Boutiques, Sephora, Nordstrom and other retailers, as well as BareEscentuals.com.  Have you been waiting for bareMinerals eyeshadows to come in a solid tablet instead of loose minerals?  Let me know in the comments!
