I had a long day yesterday–the kind you really don’t want to repeat.  As the day went on, I felt myself becoming more and more stressed and anxious.  By the time I got home from work, I knew I needed some kind of release.  Luckily (?) it was my night for Zumba.  And yes, even though I’m going twice a week, I have to psych myself up each time.  For me, exercise is still not a natural thing. Plus, it’s really intimidating for me to be in a gym, where I’m so self-conscious.

But last night I actually welcomed Zumba.  I have a great instructor–she’s very upbeat and positive–and sure enough, by the end of the class, I felt better.  I was able to blow off all of the aggravation that had been building up all day.  I’m hoping that my body was producing endorphins–I could definitely use the stress relief!  Maybe I should give myself credit, because I do exercise at least 2-3 times per week…it’s just that I look at it as more of a chore than anything else.  Am I the only one that feels this way?  How do you get motivated to exercise?
