The Heart Truth is part of the ongoing commitment to encourage new generations of people to be healthy, stay active and become passionate advocates for heart health. Minka was kind enough to take time to answer a few questions for Beauty411 readers. She is using her involvement with The Heart Truth to empower women to take care of themselves, demonstrate that a little heart never goes out of style and spread the word among their friends.
Beauty411: What do you do to stay “heart healthy” and in good shape?
Minka Kelly: I exercise a lot. I do yoga every day, and also train with my trainer Gunnar Peterson a few days a week.
Beauty411: Is there a particular exercise that you enjoy?
MK: I enjoy yoga because it includes the mind and the body. Yoga breathing really changes your day.
Beauty411: What motivated you to become involved with The Heart Truth campaign?
MK: When Diet Coke reached out and asked me to partner with them on The Heart Truth and walk in the fashion show I was really eager to be able to lend my voice and spread the word about women’s heart health.
Beauty411: What is your message to women on the importance of getting involved with The Heart Truth campaign
MK: By my getting involved I learned that heart disease is the number one killer of women, I think it is important for women to know that it is never too early to start taking care of yourself.
