The longer I stay on Nutrisystem, the more I think about the people that have impacted my success on this weight-loss journey. Having that support system can mean the difference between success or failure–at least for me.  As I often say, “it takes a village”!  Read on for more…

My Zumba instructor probably has no idea of the positive effect she’s had on me. She’s very engaging and at the beginning of each class, asks if there’s anyone new to Zumba.  Invariably at least 1 person will raise a hand.  And so she reiterates that the goal of the class is to have fun and just move.  I think once I knew I was in a place where I didn’t have to worry about being the thinnest, or the best, or dressed in the latest gear, I was freed up to just participate. And now, I enjoy it–which is great, because I’m going to have to keep going in order to reach my goal and maintain it.

Yesterday she put out a message saying she was going to fill in for another instructor; I dropped everything to change clothes and get to her class. That’s not something I would have even been able to wrap my brain around doing a year ago.  But she’s had such a positive impact on me–physically and mentally, that I don’t believe I would have reached this point without her.  I think about my attitude towards exercise a year ago and I’ve come a long way, thanks to her.
