Now that we’re “officially” into summer and are dealing with real heat, if you haven’t adjusted hair and makeup products, it’s time. Here are suggestions for 6 summer hair products that will help to keep hair looking it’s best. Read on for more…
The first place I start with summer hair is to switch out my shampoo and conditioner. Right now, I’m loving Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner. These products are designed for all women looking for lightweight hair that’s full of body and natural movement without getting weighed down. That’s so me! You can find the Pantene Aqua Light Shampoo and Conditioner in your drug, discount or grocery store.
Next up is styling. I’ve been using Moroccanoil® Light, which delivers the same shiny, smooth, results as the original formula, but in a lighter consistency, perfect for fine and fair colored hair. It can be used as a conditioning, styling and finishing tool and blends perfectly with other products. My hair prefers the lighter formula. Moroccanoil® Light has a suggested price of $40.80 for 3.4 fl. oz. Moroccanoil® is sold exclusively in salons.
I’ve finally found the *perfect* hairspray. Created by the experts at Blow, the famed New York Blow Dry Bar, Blow Out serious non-stick hairspray ($19.75 for 10 oz. can) is the first and only hairspray designed specifically for the needs of blow-dry styled hair. I hate hairspray that sticks and weighs your hair down–dealbreaker! This one doesn’t and I’m a fan for life. You can find Blow Out hairspray at ULTA Beauty; I bought mine at Nordstrom.com.
When my hair doesn’t want to cooperate, I add in some RUSK Being Sexy Gel ($12) and it really helps. It’s a strong hold gel that allows me to shape and add texture without weighing hair down. It’s not like the gel of the 80’s–this one has ingredients that nourish your hair and don’t build up. Rusk products are available in salons.
Last but not least–if you’re out in the sun, your hair needs protection, too. I’m a big fan of Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil Spray. The formula has UVA/UVB filters to protect hair from sun damage, as well as antioxidants to protect hair from free radicals. It helps protect your color, too. And it’s lightweight and water-resistant for up to 16 hours. Available in Aveda Salons or Aveda.com, $26.
