New from CHANEL: The Blue Illusion de CHANEL Collection

by Beauty411 on September 10, 2012

The Blue Illusion de CHANEL Collection was created by Peter Philips, Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup to portray the intangible hues of summer blue.  First seen at the CHANEL 2012 Spring Summer Haute Couture show, the collection perfectly complemented Karl Lagerfeld’s sea of blue on the runway. Read on for more…

Like a cloud-strewn sky, eyes take up shimmering reflections that change with the light.  The grace of an almost nude face showcases eyes with marine depths, mellowed by the radiance of blue tones.

On eyelids, ILLUSION D’OMBRE takes on a scintillating and satiny effect that makes eye makeup glow with each bat of the lashes. Two airy shades of grey blue, one pale, DESTINATION, and the other more intense, APPARITION, adapt to all faces. LE CRAYON YEUX BLEU AÉRIEN borders the eyelids with an intense stroke, like a horizon line over the ocean.

For the final step of this chromatic journey, LE VERNIS SKY LINE sweeps nails with a delicate shade of pearly blue that captures and softens the light in its pearly reflections.

The Blue Illusion de CHANEL Collection includes:

ILLUSION D’OMBRE Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Apparition and Destination

LE CRAYON YEUX Precision Eye Pencil in Bleu Aérien

LE VERNIS Nail Colour in Sky Line

The Blue Illusion de CHANEL Collection will be available this month in department and specialty stores, as well as on CHANEL.com.  Is this a collection that you’ll be purchasing? Let me know in the comments!

I’d been coveting this collection since i 1st saw it in June. So as soon as i got their email I purchased both of the new illusion d’ombre colors, bleu aerian shadow pencil and some of their brushes #’s 14, 15, 26, 27, & 19 as well. I’m not too fond of the brush included with the shadows but it does make a great lip brush! The shadows/liners are absolutely beautiful n the jar and on the lid as well. Using their new brush line(#15 damp) the shadows applied beautifully!
I had been wanting to purchase some of their brushes but had gotten mixed info regarding the hair type-Some blog reviews had they were all natural and some online retailers had they were a mix. Because of versatility I now purchase brushes that are a synthetic/natural blend or sable. So prior to placing my order I called Chanel and they verified that the new brushes are a synthetic/goat hair blend with the exception of #15(goat) and #27(synthetic angle). So I happily placed my order online and anxiously awaited the arrival of the notoriously undependable brown delivery truck! Which as usual they were later than usual!
