Carine Roitfeld elevated the smoky eye to an art form. For her M·A·C collaboration, Carine edits her look into a collection of chic colours and tools for recreating her aesthetic. Read on for more about the collection.
Carine Roitfeld, formerly Editor-in-Chief of French Vogue, is having a rebirth. In addition to launching her own fashion magazine called CR Fashion Book, she’s collaborated on a makeup collection with M·A·C. Known for her signature smoky eye and slightly Goth, rock-n-roll aesthetic, it will be interesting to see the reaction to this line. “Tired but sexy” is how Carine Roitfield describes the look.
The star product of the M·A·C Carine Roitfield Collection is the Full Face Kit in Jungle Camoflage or Desert Camoflage. Each Face Kit ($44) contains a range of four neutral eye shadows that work together to create a smoky eye.
The rest of the line includes Cremeblend Blush, Eye Brows in Brunette, Kohl Power Eye Pencil, Fluidline, 49 Lash and two Mascaras. Tropical Mist Lipstick, Face and Body Foundation, Mineralize Concealer, Nail Lacquer and Brushes round out the collection to create the perfect backdrop for dramatic eyes. I was sent the Mineralize Concealer in NC33 to preview. This is a full-coverage concealer, very pigmented and especially good at covering dark circles and imperfections.
The MAC Carine Roitfeld Collection is available at all MAC locations now and online at www.maccosmetics.com. Is this a collection you’ll be shopping for? Let me know in the comments!
