Trish McEvoy embodies the ideal of luxurious, effortless makeup. With the Brighten and Define Eye Collection, it’s easy to achieve a classic, easy, eye look that is shadow-optional. Read on for more…
The Brighten and Define Eye Collection contains three products that help to wake up tired eyes by brightening the upper eyelid and adding definition. Included in this set are:
- Eye Base Essentials in Bare
- Intense Gel Eye Liner in Black
- High Volume Mascara in Jet Black
Using Trish’s brighten and define technique, start by applying a generous amount of Eye Base Essentials Bare onto the ball of the lid and blending upward and outward, extending to the eyebrow and inner corner of the eye. This primer is excellent. I love the formula, which feels great and grabs onto your eye makeup for all-day wear.
Next, look down into a mirror and with your chin up, lift up your lid and dot Intense Gel Eye Liner Black between lashes, not on the waterline. I’ve tried a few of the pencil eyeliners that are supposed to apply and wear like a gel eyeliner and haven’t been impressed. But this one nails it. Soft and easy to smudge (there is a built-in sponge tip on one end for smudging) with a bit of shimmer, this eyeliner is intensely pigmented. I would definitely buy this liner in additional colors.
Finish this simple eye look by applying High Volume Mascara. Place the wand at the roots of the lashes; press and wiggle it back and forth until you reach the tips. The wand has tiny bristles, so you can really coat each lash. This mascara coats each lash in a “tube”, so you really get volume, length and definition. “Tubes” aren’t my favorite mascara formula, mainly because of removal issues, but I didn’t have any problems with this one.
The Trish McEvoy Eye Essentials Kit is available at HSN for $68. I can definitely recommend trying this set, especially if you’re into a quick and pretty eye look that brightens and defines your eyes. For more on Trish McEvoy, read the interview I did with her for Beauty Bylines!
