Each year since I’ve been blogging (2007), I make it a point in October to highlight products that recognize and contribute to breast cancer awareness. And I always start with the Estée Lauder brand, because Evelyn Lauder essentially started the whole “pink” movement for breast cancer awareness. Read on for more…

Mrs. Lauder was a tireless advocate and founder of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. She didn’t live to see her dream of eradicating breast cancer, but in her memory, the Estée Lauder brand 2012 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign pays tribute to Evelyn Lauder’s extraordinary life and legacy.

Each element of The Evelyn Lauder Dream Collection 2012 was designed in its entirety by Evelyn Lauder herself to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

Today and throughout the month of October, I’ll be highlighting some of my favorite pink products. It’s fitting to start with The Evelyn Lauder Compact. A beautiful collectible, it features a brilliant new Pink Ribbon design. The inside of the compact is inscribed, “Estée Lauder Breast Cancer Awareness 2012.” The compact is filled with Lucidity Translucent Pressed Powder.

Estée Lauder will donate 100% of the suggested retail price from every sale of the Evelyn Lauder Dream Compact to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. The compact has a suggested retail price of $75 and is in available at select department and specialty retailers and on www.esteelauder.com.

Other items in the Evelyn Lauder Dream Collection include:

The Evelyn Lauder Dream Pin ($12.50), with one BCA pink stone and a blue stone to represent the approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases in the United States that are diagnosed in men. Estée Lauder will donate 20% of the suggested retail price from every sale of the Evelyn Lauder Dream Pin to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.

The Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection ($29.50), which includes a full-size Pure Color Lipstick in Candy, a shade chosen by Evelyn Lauder and a Pure Color Gloss in Pink Innocence, chosen by Elizabeth Hurley in a chic pink snakeskin-printed clutch. Estée Lauder will donate 20% of the suggested retail price from every sale of the Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley Dream Lip Collection to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.
