Drew Barrymore has always been a free spirit. While you’d think the new mom would have enough on her hands, she’s now taken on the role of cosmetics entrepreneur. She’s just released her own brand of cosmetics called Flower. Read on for more…

With Flower, Drew hopes to elevate the current offerings in the beauty aisles of Walmart. The goal is to bring quality formulas and packaging to the masses, while not spending as much on advertising. The line currently has 181 products for face, eyes, lips and nails. I’ve seen Drew on numerous TV shows talking about her new brand and she seems genuinely excited to be entering the cosmetics world.

The products in the Flower line that I’ve tried include:

  • Eyeshadow Quad in Smoke and Mirrors ($8.98)
  • Blush/Bronzer Duo in Beachy Keen ($9.98)
  • Sheer Up Lip Tint in Lacy Laurel ($7.98)
  • Zoom In Ultimate Mascara ($7.98)

Overall, I think Flower is a great line. The colors are very pretty, wearable and expertly coordinated. The shades in the Smoke and Mirrors Eyeshadow Quad look like colors you’d see in a palette much more expensive than this. The only caveat is I did find there to be quite a bit of fallout with the eyeshadow and the blush/bronzer duo. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of.

The Lip Tint feels great on the lips and provides a subtle flush of color. The Ultimate Mascara has a three-way adjustable brush to give you volume, length and/or curl. While the formula and performance was OK, I found the brush to be a little too big for my comfort zone.

I will definitely pick up a few more Flower products; I’d like to try the Creme Blush and Nail Lacquer. You can find the Flower beauty line at Walmart and Walmart.com. Have you tried this line yet? I’m interested to know what you think…let me know in the comments!
