Just in time for awards season, Julep has launched some amazing new products and collections just in time for OSCAR season, including a beautiful nail color collection dedicated to silver screen beauties. Read on for the 411!

Julep has become a nail line that I’ve really grown to love. From fashion forward nail polishes with a great formula to hand and nail care products I can’t live without, this brand has become essential.

Julep has just launched its second annual Oscar Glam collection ($14 each).  The color line up is stunning, just as the women that inspired its creation. Look for iconic Academy Award winners including Ingrid, Joan, Ginger and Claudette, along with Julep’s picks for 2013’s golden greats.  The 10 color glam collection radiates movie star shine no matter what you’re wearing.

The Oscar Glam Collection includes:

  • Laura: A green-olive khaki crème
  • Sally: An antique ivory with a hint of soft peach crème
  • Julianne: A smoky grayed blue crème
  • Ingrid: A burnt umber orange crème
  • Marion: A smoky deep teal with a lustrous silver shimmer
  • Claudette: A smoky brick red crème
  • Rebel: A silver holographic
  • Joan: A raspberry plum with rose gold shimmer
  • Ginger: A sand holographic
  • Helen: A smoky pastel lavender crème

The color I was most drawn to try was Julianne, a sophisticated blue-grey crème.  The shades are gorgeous and are so versatile, you can wear them year around. I’ve gotten so many complements on this nail color!

Also new is Julep’s Freedom Polymer Top Coat ($18) and what sets this apart from other top coats is that you get the feel and durability of a gel finish, but without curing. It’s quick drying, which surprised me and seems a little thicker than a normal top coat. You can let Freedom Polymer Top Coat air-dry or for longer wear or “cure” it under a 60 watt light bulb. I did that and promptly smudged the color, but much to my surprise, it “corrected” itself and I didn’t have to re-do the nail! Love this! I consider “long-wearing” anything that goes beyond 7 days–by then I’m too antsy to change color, and I definitely got long wear from the Freedom Polymer Top Coat. Best part? No special removal process is needed…it comes off with regular nail polish remover.

I love Julep’s hand and nail care products and am a huge fan of the Essential Cuticle Oil, so when I saw the new Hand and Cuticle Stick, I was anxious to see how it compared. This is a moisturizing formula for hands and nails but in a solid form, so it’s great for  travel or in your purse, which is where mine resides. This time of year, my cuticles are just cringe-worthy and I need frequent application of cuticle conditioners.  The Hand and Cuticle Stick formula has a unique blend of ingredients, including Vitamins C and E, Shea butter and sweet almond oil to help nourish, soothe and maintain moisture in the skin. Can’t live without it!

You can find the Julep line of products at Sephora and through Julep.com. Have you tried this nail line yet?
