Estée Lauder has released The Metallics, a new Pure Color Collection for Fall. The innovative collection was conceived by Tom Pecheux, Creative Makeup Director, Estée Lauder, who infused his fashion background into the colors and finishes. Read on for more…
The Metallics Pure Color Collection uses a variety of unique reflective finishes to bring a new level of sophistication to multi-dimensional color. I was curious to play with the products and see how the metallic finishes would translate into real life. Honestly–they’re beautiful. Regardless of your age, this is a collection that will look good on everyone. The metallics are done in a way that don’t favor a certain age group; they’re equally as wearable.
The Pure Color Instant Intense EyeShadow Trios ($36, available in 8 palettes), have a unique texture. You can use these shadows dry or wet—for more of a “molten metal” effect. The colors are true and have good pigmentation, with finishes from metallic to shimmer. Really pretty! My favorite trio in the collection is the Steel Lilacs (top right).
The Pure Color High Intensity Lip Lacquer ($25, 12 shades) and Limited Edition Pure Color Vivid Shine Lipsticks ($26, 6 shades) use True Vision™ Technology to provide the ultimate color payoff. What impressed me with the Lip Lacquers is not only the vibrant colors, but the amazing wear. Designed to perform for 6 hours, I can attest that these long-wearing Lip Lacquers met the challenge, staying on after drinking coffee.
Finally, the Limited Edition Pure Color Vivid Shine Nail Lacquers ($20, 8 shades) have a new high-impact finish that saturates nails in richly pigmented chromatic color with a metallic finish. The finish looks like molten metal, but it will show flaws. I prepped nails with a ridge-filling base coat to hide imperfections. I found the nail polishes to wear well and even with a metallic, matte finish, didn’t experience early chipping.
The Metallics Pure Color Collection by Estée Lauder for Fall is available now in department stores, including Nordstrom. Are you going to be wearing The Metallics for Fall?
