Hourglass has introduced the limited-edition Ambient Lighting Palette, a gorgeous trio of some of the most beautiful face powders anywhere. Ambient Lighting Powders have been an obsession of mine (see review) since they were first released this year.  Read on for more…

What makes Ambient Lighting Powders different from other powders is the use of “photoluminescent technology”. This technology enables the powder to refract the light. It’s really a beautiful effect. The thought of having three Ambient Lighting shades in one palette…definitely a must-have. The Ambient Lighting Palette includes:

  • Dim Light (left shade): A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with a balance of warm and cool tones.
  • Incandescent Light (middle shade): A pearlescent powder that highlights the cheekbones and brightens the complexion with a celestial, holiday glow. This shade is stunning!
  • Radiant Light (right shade): A sun-kissed golden beige powder that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth.
  • Plus, a 5ml-size Veil Mineral Primer to create the perfect canvas for your holiday look.

I love this new palette, because I think it offers a way to use all of the Ambient Lighting Powders to sculpt, highlight and luminize your face. I know I’ll also use it every time I travel…so convenient.

Hourglass Makeup Artist Moani Lee offers the following tips on using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette:

“Using the Hourglass Ambient Powder Brush, dust Dim Light all over the complexion; focus on the center of the face to soften imperfections. Follow by adding Radiant Light as a contour under the cheekbones, temples and on either side of the bridge of the nose to add a subtle warmth. Finish off with a light dusting of Incandescent Light on the tops of the cheekbones, under the brow, the center of the eyelids, bridge of the nose and the cupid’s bow to brighten the complexion and create a celestial glow. For deeper skin tones, it’s best to test the product on your skin and make adjustments by mixing Radiant Light to add warmth.”

The limited-edition Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($58) is available at retailers including Sephora, Space NK and hourglasscosmetics.com. Have you tried the Ambient Lighting Powders yet? Let me know in the comments!
