NARS Founder and Creative Director François Nars was influenced by Guy Bourdin from a very early age. And it was Guy Bourdin’s work in the pages of French Vogue that first inspired Nars to become a makeup artist. With this years’ holiday collection, François Nars pays tribute to the man that lit the creative fire.

I received two samples from the NARS Guy Bourdin Collection to preview; the Full Frontal Cinematic Lipstick and Tomorrow’s Red Nail Polish. I was anxious to try the new Cinematic Formula and I can tell you this it’s very pigmented and rich, long-lasting color. The color is true to the picture above; rose-violet is the perfect description.

Tomorrow’s Red Nail Polish is a true red; it’s a beautiful shade. I’m really feeling red nails right now and especially going into the holiday season. This one is easy to wear, creamy and with the excellent coverage I’ve come to expect from a NARS nail polish. I actually like each one of these shades and would definitely consider adding the additional colors to my collection.

The NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection is available now in department stores, including Nordstrom, as well as and NARS Boutiques. Do you see anything that you’ll be picking up?
