The stars of this collection are clearly the lips. The Lip Lacquer in Maraschino is a true, cherry red gloss. To me, it’s a much more forgiving (and less intimidating) way to wear a red lip. The Cream Lipstick in Venetian Red feels good on the lips; it’s a moisturizing formula. My preferred way to wear this was to apply, then blot off for more of a stain effect. The lip pencil is a true crimson–a beautiful berry shade. I love this shade with just a clear gloss over. Beautiful!

On the eyes, it seems like in general, metallic eyeshadow doesn’t carry alot of pigmentation and I’d say the same is true with Silver Lining Glow. The effect is pretty, when on the lid–definitely not too much sparkle. But in order for to get any real staying power with this one, you need to use a primer. I really liked the Pinpoint Micro Tip Eyeliner. The black carries good pigmentation and the tip is workable, making for an easier sweep across the eyelid. The Voluptulash Mascara is good, too. I liked the volumizing formula and didn’t experience flaking or irritation.

Senna Lasting Illusion Foundation

I was also sent a bottle of the Lasting Illusion Satin Matte Foundation ($48) to try in Sand. What a great discovery! First, the Sand shade was a perfect match–thanks, Senna! But in case it wasn’t, I was sent a packet of additional shades to try. The foundation feels great on the skin. It’s a medium to almost full coverage, breatheable, long-lasting and doesn’t settle into fine lines. In short, I love it! I also like the pump dispenser and elegant bottle. If you’re a regular reader, you know I’m extremely particular about foundations and this one is excellent. I’d rebuy this again.

The Senna Cosmetics Do You Dare Holiday Collection and the Lasting Illusion Satin Matte Foundation are available to purchase at SennaCosmetics.com. Have you tried this line yet? Let me know in the comments!
