It might be a new year, but often times skin issues don’t get the message. To help with correcting hyperpigmentation, skin discolorations and improving radiance, Skinceuticals has introduced Advanced Pigment Corrector.
Advanced Pigment Corrector is a launch that I’m really excited about, because I’m one of the millions of women with persistent skin discolorations. I can try a product, see improvement, then bam–back to square one because the issues continue to develop. It’s really frustrating.
Skinceuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector has a blend of active ingredients designed to not only target the existing pigment, but to block it’s development and reoccurrence. You can use Advanced Pigment Corrector on it’s own or in addition to procedures (like lasers) or other prescription treatments. I like that it’s been shown to be as safe and effective as a 4% hydroquinone – .025 tretinoin combination (the gold standard of treatment). That’s major!
Advanced Pigment Corrector contains a blend of three acids (.3 Salicylic Acid, 1% Propionic Acid and .5 Ellagic Acid) that work at various areas throughout the layers of the epidermis. In addition, for the first time, 5% Yeast Extract works to prevent new and recurring hyperpigmentation at the source. This combination of ingredients retexturizes skin and increases radiance, in addition to working on dark spots, sun damage and hyperpigmentation.
I’ve been using Advanced Pigment Corrector and can attest to the fact that I haven’t experienced any side-effects (stinging, burning, pelling, dryness) with use. Getting rid of skin discolorations is a long, slow process, so I plan to keep using it, but at this stage, I am encouraged.
I’ve been applying twice daily, in the morning and evening to cleansed skin. My go-to serum (when I’m not testing) is SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic, so for my routine I wash my face, apply C E Ferulic, then Advanced Pigment Corrector followed by sunscreen. At night, I apply after cleansing my face, then follow up with moisturizer.
Skinceuticals Advanced Pigment Corrector ($90) is available in physician offices nationwide and at skinceuticals.com.
