This winter, keeping skin comfortable seems like a real challenge. With extremely cold temperatures due to the Polar Vortex and blowing winds, even having skin exposed for minimal time takes it’s toll. I have some ideas that can help bring relief to dry, winter skin. And even better, most of these products are in the aisles of your drug, discount or food store!
Switching to a creme cleanser can definitely help restore moisture levels. Noxema has recently added even more moisture to it’s Original Deep Cleansing Cream. Gentle and non-irritating, this classic cleansing cream won’t strip skin. And bonus…even guys can use it!
New from Cetaphil, the Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths ($5.99) are an alternative to cleanser. They thoroughly remove makeup, are fragrance-free and non-irritating. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths can be used by all skin types, even those with Eczema, Psoriasis, Rosacea, severely dry skin and acne. The Cloths are convenient for travel or at the gym, too.
Dry winter skin can benefit from the Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula line. I’ve been using a variety of products, including the Daily Body Lotion, to keep my skin moisturized. The Lotion really smells like chocolate, has pure Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E, is ultra-thick and moisturizing. Good for skins prone to Eczema, too. The Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Skin Therapy Face Oil is a blend of 10 oils, plus retinol and Vitamin C. Don’t judge by plain bottle; this facial oil is excellent!
A new launch from Simple Skincare, the Nourishing 24HR Day/Night Cream is a winter skin-saver whether or not you have sensitive skin. There is nothing artificial or irritating in the formula–no harsh chemicals, no artificial perfumes or dyes, no parabens. Instead, Nourishing 24HR Day/Night Cream is wonderfully hydrating, leaving skin soft and smooth. Enriched with Shea Butter, Glycerin and vitamins, this is a good choice if you’re looking for a facial moisturizer.
And no, we’re not overlooking your feet! The PROFOOT Pedi-Rock is a new, flexible foot file that contours to the shape of the foot for super-effective removal of rough, dry skin. You can use wet or dry, and it removes dry, scaly skin from feet, similar to a pumice stone. Follow up with PROFOOT Heel Rescue Foot Cream, which contains Moroccan Argan Oil and Vitamin E to keep feet moisturized and smooth.
