Peter Thomas Roth has just released a skin care product that can really change the way your skin looks and feels. The Professional Strength 40% Triple Acid Peel is strong enough so that you see results, but safe enough that you can do it at home.

The Peter Thomas Roth Professional Strength 40% Triple Acid Peel consists of three acids–TCA (Trichloracetic Acid), Glycolic and Salicylic. It’s not unusual to combine acids in skincare products, but you do have to find a combination that works together for effective results. TCA Peels are usually used to improve hyperpigmentation, for anti-aging (fine lines and wrinkles) and sun damage. Glycolic acid peels will work on the same concerns, and offer additional exfoliating/detoxifying benefits. Salicylic Acid offers benefits for controlling acne and blackheads. This peel also is formulated with Hyaluronic acid and other humectants to hold moisture in the skin.

PTR Triple Acid Peel-inside

I’ve had a fair number of professional peels and have bought at-home peels before, so when I saw this one, I was interested. The kit comes with 12 vials containing the peel solution and 12 peel pads for application. Note: before doing any peel, you should always do a patch test on your skin first!  I did not have any reaction to the patch test, so I proceeded to apply the peel. The vials contain a generous amount of product. Once you apply the solution to your skin, it stays on 2 minutes, then is rinsed off with water to neutralize.

I was pretty impressed with the results of the Peter Thomas Roth Professional Strength 40% Triple Acid Peel. First, my skin was remarkably soft; impressive, considering how dry it’s been. I saw notable brightening; the addition of the Hyaluronic Acid really gives a plumping, refreshed look to skin. The Peel is meant to be done once a week for 12 weeks for best results and I will definitely make that a Sunday night habit. I didn’t experience even the slightest amount of stinging or irritation, however all skin tolerability differs, so you might have a different result. As with all products of this type, using a sunscreen and limiting sun exposure is essential to maintain benefits and for prevention of future damage.

If you’re looking to jumpstart your skin, the Peter Thomas Roth Professional Strength 40% Triple Acid Peel ($88) is a great way to do it.  I would definitely recommend and re-buy this product. You can find it at Sephora.
