M·A·C finds itself again at the intersection of the beauty and fashion worlds with the introduction of the Proenza Schouler Collection. The Proenza Schouler woman is downtown cool and confident with a laid-back California vibe. It stands to reason that the partnership between M·A·C and Proenza Schouler would yield makeup for the ultimate ‘It Girl’.

The colors in the M·A·C Proenza Schouler collection are bright and effortless, with specially designed, ombre limited-edition packaging. And staying with the “effortless” feel, there is no eyeshadow or foundation in this collection.
If you’re not familiar with the Proenza Schouler line, it is the effort of designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough. While I can’t profess to own any of the clothes, I do lust after one of the Proenza Schouler handbags, the PS11 Classic.
I was fortunate to receive samples of some of the products in the M·A·C x Proenza Schouler Collection. I tried the Lipstick in Mangrove, which is a matte bright red-orange shade. It’s the perfect shade for summer; bright, very pigmented and long-wearing. If there was one product in this collection to buy, I feel Mangrove is it.
The Nail Lacquers look like colors that you’d see backstage during Fashion Week. I tried Dayflower, a plum cream. This is a shade that I’ll wear over and over again. All four of the shades are neutral, so you can wear them year around. I really like the MAC Nail Lacquer formula; I get good wear, with minimal, if any, chipping. And I love the brush.
The limited-edition M·A·C Proenza Schouler Collection is available now in department stores and at maccosmetics.com. Do you plan to pick anything up? I definitely will be going back for the Bougainvillea Nail Lacquer and possibly the Sunset Beach Blush!
