NARS meets Summer 2014 head on, with the new Adult Swim Collection. Always sexy and bold for summer, this NARS Collection features that are bright, yet universally flattering.
The NARS Summer 2014 Collection includes:
Lost Coast Duo Eyeshadow – Golden pewter and Lilac snow
Tropical Princess Duo Eyeshadow – Neon lemon lime and Icy lavender
Malacca Single Eyeshadow – Iridescent peacock
Iraklion Soft Touch Shadow Pencil – Smoky rose quartz
Baalbek Eye Paint – Bronze
Hot Sand Illuminator – Peach champagne
Libertango Nail Polish – Geranium
I previewed the Lost Coast Duo Eyeshadow and the Libertango Nail Polish from the Summer 2014 Collection. I found the Lost Coast Duo Eyeshadow colors really versatile; the golden pewter color wore more like khaki on me–but I loved it as an allover eye color, while using the lavendar shade (wet) as a liner. Really pretty! Maybe it was the lighter colors, but I felt use of a primer was absolutely essential with this Duo. I just didn’t feel that Lost Coast was as pigmented as other NARS eyeshadows I’ve tried.
And so far, of all the summer nail polish I’ve seen, Libertango is my favorite. It’s not overly bright and on me, it reads as a cool orange shade. It’s a perfect pedi-shade! The wear on this opaque creme formula is exceptional. On opening, it was a bit thick, but this did not result in chipping or less wear time. The photo above is two coats of Libertango with a topcoat. Pick this one up!
Also of note, NARS has reformulated their lip glosses and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I tried Tasmania lip gloss (not in this collection; in the permanent line), which is a fabulous fleshy-pink-coral shade, and I LOVE the change. Not sticky or tacky, the lighter formula wears well and has a new doefoot applicator for easy application. And the best part? You can now read the labels! Thanks, NARS, for giving these “older-gal” eyes a break!
The limited-edition NARS Summer 2014 Collection is in department stores including Nordstrom and Sephora and on Narscosmetics.com now. Will you be picking anything up? Let me know in the comments!
