One of the most stunning and innovative lipsticks, Guerlain Rouge G is a beautiful combination of form and function. This summer, there are five new shades of Rouge G available in the permanent line, plus two limited-edition collector shades in vibrant lacquered cases.
The new Rouge G de Guerlain shades ($51) include:
- 15 Galiane – nude beige
- 16 Gaëtane – deep brown
- 48 Geneva – blood orange
- 77 Géraldine – luminous pink
- 78 Gladys – vibrant fuchsia
The limited-edition collector shades ($54) include:
If you aren’t familiar with Rouge G lipstick, it’s lipstick luxury redefined. Rouge G is the creation of Lorenz Bäume, who drew inspiration from the most precious element in jewelry – a bar of gold. The Rouge G lipstick case is a form of “compact”, with a hidden mirror so that you can apply your lipstick discretely and accurately. It feels substantial and sensuous in the hand–it’s really a piece of art.
I tried several shades from the new Rouge G offerings; in the cream formula, I tried Geneva, which is a vibrant shade (to me it reads bright pink-coral) that is perfect for summer. This shade is a must-have against bronzed skin. It’s has sheer, but pigmented coverage and provides a hydrating, long, wear. If I could pick only one shade out of the new ones as a favorite, Geneva would be it. Highly recommended!
I also received the limited-edition collector shades, including Rose Grenat and Rose Glace, both of which I love. The Rose Grenat is gorgeous shade that is pigmented and versatile day-to-night, while the Rose Glace is perfect for when you only want a hint of color. I love the playful collectors cases that these limited-editions come in, too.
