With all the attention being focused on Brazil and the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup™, it’s a good opportunity to shine a light on the world of Brazilian fashion designers. Pedro Lourenço grew up in São Paulo and continues to enchant the fashion world with his couture-like sensibility and meticulous attention to detail. The new M·A·C Pedro Lourenço Collection spotlights daring, saturated hues juxtaposed against soft, frosted nudes, all encased in limited-edition, black packaging with a chic, velvet finish. Let me start with this: of all the M·A·C collections I’ve reviewed this year, and there have have been quite a few, I think the Pedro Lourenço Collection is absolutely the most beautiful one of all. The shades are primarily nude, with metallics and pops of clear red. Stunning!
I love a beautiful nude palette and this one totally satisfies! The Nude Quad has two matte eyeshadows (Pink Sands and Rosé Cloud) plus two textured shades, All That Glitters and Sable. I found all eyeshadows to have good pigmentation. I recommend using a primer (especially with lighter shades) and with the textured shadows, I find the M·A·C 239 brush to work best. These colors are really gorgeous.
Equally beautiful is the Powder Blush Duo in Corol, with two shades in a matte light coral pink and soft neutral plum velvet texture. This Duo is so pretty. It will work for a variety of skin tones. Love!
The other products I tried included the Lipstick in Peach Beige, which was too light for my coloring on it’s own. However with the Golden Mirror Lipglass over it, it works. I also tested True Red Lipstick, which is too bold of a look for me. I was surprised at the amount of red in this collection, so quickly on the heels of the Maleficent Collection (review), which was very red-based.
The M·A·C Pedro Lourenço Collection is available now at select locations through early July. If you’ve been waiting for M·A·C to give you a collection of neutrals to play with, this is the one to get!
