3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Collection-banner

NARS and Phillip Lim have teamed up to bring a sense of high style to our nails. The collaboration was an easy one, as NARS has worked with the 3.1 Phillip Lim runway show during New York Fashion Week since Fall 2007. The 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection includes nine limited edition nail shades inspired by the “colors that exist in the shadows.”

Phillip Lim has made his mark on the fashion world with a modern design aesthetic. It’s that same cool vibe that’s at work in this collaboration.

NARS Wrong Turn-Crossroads-bottle

I tried two shades from the 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection, Wrong Turn and Crossroads. To be honest, I’ll start by saying that I always have more of a challenge with metallic formulas, no matter the brand. While the color was beautiful–a deep gunmetal with hints of iridescent green, I had a hard time laying down the polish so that it appeared even. The depth of color is excellent though; but even with a base coat, I had staining on the nail.

Crossroads on the other hand is a gorgeous deep plum cream with excellent color saturation. I had no problems with application or removal. This will definitely be a shade among my top picks for Fall nail colors. I have a lot of purple nail polishes (too many to count) and this is definitely among my top favorites. Love!

The colors in the 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection are just the sort of nail polish colors that I love. Edgy, unusual colors with great color saturation and wear; I’ll be on the lookout for Hell-Bent and Dark Room.

The 3.1 Phillip Lim for NARS Nail Collection ($20 each shade) is available now in NARS Boutiques and narscosmetics.com and will be available soon in Sephora and department/specialty stores. If you’re a Narsissist (or a fashionista!), you’re going to want to check out this collection!
