Reboot Your Skincare Routine banner

We’re early into the new year and if you’re like me, I generally like to overhaul everything, especially my skincare routine. I’ve been trying and testing new products. These are some of the stand outs that you might consider adding as you reboot your skincare for 2015!

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic - Resveratrol BE Serum

Meet my new dynamic duo! One of the things you can do to jumpstart your skin is to be using antioxidants. I love SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic for morning; I’ve used that for years. For evening, I’ve now added SkinCeuticals Resveratrol B E to the mix. The resveratrol and other antioxidants combine to neutralize free radicals, which helps reduce collagen breakdown for maximum anti-aging benefits. I applied to clean skin at night and followed with a moisturizer. I didn’t experience any irritation. Clinical results show Resveratrol B E significantly improved radiance, firmness, elasticity, and density. By treating with C E Ferulic in the morning and Resveratrol B E in the evening, you’re maximizing the skin’s ability to repair damage and minimize signs of aging. Highly recommended!

BioRepublic Face Masks-grp

If your goal is brighter skin, there are many ways to achieve that. One treatment I like is a sheet mask. BioRepublic has a new range of sheet masks out that can be used to target various skin issues. For brightening, I tried the Pomegranate Crush Illuminating Mask, which has natural pomegranate extracts and Vitamin E. This sheet mask is easy to use–apply to clean skin and leave on for 15-20 minutes; you’ll forget you even have it on. Then remove the sheet and work the remaining product into skin. The mask is shaped to fit the contours of the face. I really liked the results: fresh, smooth and radiant skin!

Boots No 7 Protect & Perfect ADVANCED Serum

Boots No. 7 has two new serums out: new No. 7 Protect & Perfect ADVANCED Serum (for someone just starting an anti-aging regimen) and Protect & Perfect Intense ADVANCED Serum, which is the one I’ve been using. What drew me to this product is that it is formulated with Matrixyl3000Plus, a new di-peptide, Hyaluronic Acid and an Antioxidant Complex. I applied the formula morning and night to clean skin, with no irritation at all. I noticed that my skin was comfortably hydrated. I was impressed with these anti-aging serums…and you can find them in the drugstore!

Proactiv+ Advanced Dark Spot Correcting Serum

If you have dark spots caused by acne blemishes, don’t despair…treat! New Proactiv+ Advanced Dark Spot Correcting Serum gradually fades discolorations and spots. It’s formulated with antioxidant Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil to help calm skin and Hydroquinone (2%), which is a potent skin lightener. This gel-serum also helps lighten post-acne marks and can even be used for the gradual fading of freckles, sun damage, age and liver spots. Get more information at discoverproactiv.com.

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant

Lastly, I’ve been trying out the new Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant and really liking it. Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant ($5.49) provides 48-hour odor and wetness protection, along with Dove’s signature 1/4 moisturizing technology–so it’s gentle on underarm skin. I was a little hesitant at first, but unlike the spray deodorants of the past that dripped down your skin, this one applies dry. And it really works! Comes in a variety of scents (and unscented), available in drugstores.
