With each new release, you can always count on MAC to take us on a journey. With the MAC Is Beauty Collection, we’re not going far…to the salon, for a little glamming up. And we’re not feeling guilty about that, not one little bit! The MAC Is Beauty Collection for spring is fueled on pastel-prettiness.
The focus of the M·A·C Is Beauty Collection are the fluidlines: 16 (!) shades, including some repromotes. I received Our Secret (milk chocolate brown) and Looking Good (sparky burgundy). Because brown is a basic, you might already have a similar shade to Our Secret in your makeup collection. Looking Good offers nice color payoff and would be pretty paired with a neutral eye. If you have a tendency to bloodshot eyes, however, look for another shade, as the red tones in this color will accentuate that–not a good look.
There are also four shades of single eyeshadow available. I tried Wow Factor (medium lavender, satin) and Bouffant (pale peach shimmer, veluxe pearl). Both great choices for spring. Color payoff was good and if you don’t already have similar colors in your collection, these shades are nice to have. The Beauty Powder is always a favorite and Alpha Girl is a soft peachy pink with gold, which will go great with a bronzer.
Who can resist the nail shades in pastel sherbert colors? I tried the Studio Nail Lacquer ($12 each) in French Tipped (pale pink) and To Dye For (pale peach); also available is Doll Me Up (pale mint green). I really like the performance of MAC’s Studio Nail Lacquers and I get good color saturation with two coats. Plus, I love the brush!
Finally, if you’re looking for neutral lipstick, you can’t go wrong with Call the Hairdresser (rosy mauve lustre) or French Twist light pink nude (lustre).
With a total of 12 lipsticks in a variety of flattering shades, you’re sure to find one right for summer!
