Summer at CHANEL is inspired by the vivid skies and blue seas of the Mediterranean. I’ve come to expect a bright, vivid summer collection from Chanel and wasn’t disappointed. The look is bronzed skin and mesmerizing eyes, with bold nails and colourful lips. Take me to the Riviera, Chanel!

With Collection Méditerranée, Chanel delivers another gorgeous seasonal collection. The beautiful, vivid colors are perfect for sunlit days and sultry nights.
The Stylo Eyeshadows are a perfect example of a practical summer makeup product. Richly pigmented with good color payoff and easy application, I didn’t even need a primer when I tested. You need to work quickly to blend in the eyeshadow, as once it’s set, it’s not going anywhere. I love that for hot summer days by the pool. As far as finish, there is a shimmer; Laurier Rose seemed to be the most shimmery, while Olivine and Caroube were less.
Can we talk about the gorgeous nail shades? Honestly, asking me to pick a favorite is impossible, but the Méditerranée shade is stunning. The color is saturated and it’s really not like anything else I have in my collection. Lavanda is a bright orchid shade that I love, but it’s Coquelicot that speaks to me the most in this collection. A beautiful, clear red—it’s the ultimate neutral for summer.
If you love Rouge Coco Shines like I do, I have bad news for you. Each of these shades is so wearable, you really are going to want all of them. You literally can’t go wrong with these colors. Intrepide leans more pink, while Insoumise is more coral; Reveuse is the perfect nude.
And lastly, the Lumiere d’Ete Illuminating Powder. While it’s called a “golden bronzing powder”, it’s not a bronzer. It’s an illuminating powder. Therefore, the effect is subtle bronze illumination; not a more pigmented bronzer. I apply a bronzer first and then sweep this over the areas where I normally would use an illuminator and it’s beautiful. Why do you need it? Because often when you use a bronzer, the effect can be “flat”. And when using an illuminator with a bronzer, sometimes there’s too much of a contrast. This bronze-shaded illuminator is a beautiful marriage. And the camellia blossom tablet is divine.
