I was able to preview the NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection and I like what I see! I was anxious to try the new Velvet Shadow Sticks. They’re very versatile and come in a range of colors and finishes. I tried two shades, Hollywoodland and Oaxaca; both neutrals. Hollywoodland is a metallic gold, while Oaxaca (my favorite of the two) is a medium taupe shade; gorgeous. First, I prepped the eyelid with NARS Pro Prime Smudgeproof Shadow Base, then I applied the Velvet Shadow Stick over to insure there would be no creasing. Even when I tested without a primer, the Velvet Shadow Stick didn’t crease. On average, I got about 6 hours of wear from each, so the formula is not super long-wearing, but convenient for travel.

I also tested NARS Blush in Tribulation, a new shade. This shade looks deceptively neutral, but it works as a perfect highlighter, with a hint of pink and a bit of sparkle. It’s a good pick and one I would recommend having. I also tried the Lipgloss in Baby Doll and VIP Red Lipstick. While Baby Girl is a soft, shimmering pink, that’s pretty, it wouldn’t be a must-have unless you’re needing to update your pinks and/or love the formula (I do). VIP Red, on the other hand, is a must-have for Fall. It’s that semi-matte statement-making color that adds a punch to your whole look!

The NARS Fall 2015 Color Collection, Private Screening, is available now at and other retailers, including Sephora and Nordstrom. Are you lusting for fall at NARS?
