Urban Decay is known for turning up the heat; and with the release of the Summer Collection, they have certainly taken hot to a new level! With new Revolution Lipgloss and Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush, Urban Decay amps up summer makeup to a sweltering pitch. I’m having an 80’s flashback and hearing the J. Geils Band song “Flamethrower”!
The Urban Decay Summer Collection 2015 lineup includes:
New Revolution High-Color Lipgloss ($22) in 14 shades: Apocalypse (deep purple-wine), Assassin (candy apple red w/glitter), Big Bang (bright pink w/glitter), Bittersweet (bright purple), Brickhouse (dark brick red), Failbait (lt. neutral pink), Kinky (nude), Liar (med. pink-nude), Punch Drunk (bright orange), Quiver (med. rose-pink), Savage (electric pink), Scandal (bright pink), Vice (dark purple w/glitter) and 69 (bright red).
Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blush ($26) in Bang (bright red-orange), Bittersweet (bright purple), Crush (medium pink), Fetish (medium pink-nude), Indecent (lt. peachy-nude), Kinky (lt. peach w/lt. shimmer), Obsessed (light pink), Quickie (bright pink/blue-based), Quiver (medium red), Rapture (deep mauve w/shimmer), Score (med. pink-peach w/shimmer), Video (soft nude).
Eyeshadow ($18) in eight new shades: Backfire (burgundy/purple duotone), Beware (warm brown matte), Dive Bar (blue/pink-purple duotone), Fireball (peach/pink duotone), Lounge (brick red/green duotone), Riff (brown-nude matte w/micro-sparkle), Sideline (gold/green duotone) and Tonic (lilac/blue duotone).
Eyeshadow Primer Potion ($20-$24) has been reformulated with a new flocked applicator, which I like and new packaging. No change was made to Original, Anti-Aging or Eden primers. “Sin” (the champagne shimmer shade) is now “Minor Sin”, to reflect a more sheer formula. Whichever option you choose, these are great primers. I especially love Enigma; not only do you get a great primer, but 100% of the purchase price goes to fund The Ultraviolet Edge, a global initiative to empower women.
The Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil is primarily a lip primer, but can also be used to fill in lines around the lips and eyes, as well as to clean up any makeup mess-ups. I’ve used it dozens of times for that–so handy!
The Urban Decay Summer Collection is a huge release, but I did manage to find my favorites. I love the new Revolution Lipglosses. The color is really high-pigmented and long-lasting without being sticky or drying. My other favorites are the new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Blushes. Blushes are my beauty kryptonite and picking favorites out of this collection is hard. The ones I keep coming back to are Crush, Fetish and Obsessed; love. It’s hard to find a more pigmented eyeshadow than Urban Decay; Backfire and Lounge are my favorites.
