M∙A∙C introduces a new addition to their already-extensive foundation lineup. Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation is an innovative foundation that delivers color in an ultra-fluid, elegantly thin, elastic gel serum formula.
Have you noticed that with each new foundation release, the formulas are getting better? I’m certainly happy to see that, as I’m super picky about whatever foundation I put into regular rotation. With the introduction of M∙A∙C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation, you get pigments that stay true-to-color and a foundation that feels like a second skin.
My experience in testing M∙A∙C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation was limited however, because, as you can see from the swatch, the shades I tested, NW25 and NW30 are not correct for my skintone (I usually wear NC25 in MAC foundations). It appears that there is a huge difference in the pink tones just by jumping from NW25 to NW30, so shade selection might be a bit of trial and error.
What I can tell you is that I loved the feel of Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation on the skin. It’s light, silky and has a sheer-to-medium buildable coverage. For a foundation with SPF 30 in it, it doesn’t have a sticky or tacky feel to it and in limited wearing, I didn’t get shiny or a “greasy” feeling. It’s a good foundation for all ages, but I’d say especially good for those with dry or mature skins, as there are is a “skin blurring” quality to it. Apply one drop to skin; you can press in or use the new M∙A∙C 196 Slanted Flat Top Foundation Brush ($35).
M∙A∙C Studio Waterweight SPF 30 Foundation ($33) is available in 25 shades. You can find it at all M∙A∙C locations, including Nordstrom and maccosmetics.com. Is a new foundation on your shopping list?
