I hold my breath for the release of any new Guerlain Collection, but especially the Holiday Collection. This year, the Winter Fairy Tale Collection is spectacular. Inspired by a quiet winter evening, with snowflakes falling , the Guerlain Winter Fairy Tale Collection dazzles. Sit back and enjoy the eye candy!
The star of the Winter Fairy Tale Collection…Météorites Perles des Neiges, $80.
For the first time, the iconic Météorites Perles have been transformed into snowflakes! I’ve used and collected Météorites for over 20 years and can honestly say I’ve never seen anything so beautiful. Delicate pearlescent colors highlight and add radiance to the face (no sparkle). And the packaging…gorgeous!
Rouge G de Guerlain Collector Lipcolor in 867 Merveilleux Rose $55
Maxi Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick in 902 Reflets Etoiles, $30
Maxi Shine Lip Gloss in M72 Fleur de Givre, $30
I was able to preview several pieces of the Winter Fairy Tale Collection; the Eye and Blush Palette, the Météorites Perles des Neiges, the Terracotta Collector Palette and La Laque Coleur Nail Lacquer.
The Météorites Perles des Neiges steal the show. This edition is beyond anything I could have thought Guerlain was capable of doing (and that says alot!). But not only is it the beautiful packaging; it’s the colors of the Perles that make this edition so special. Skin literally glows! There is a beautiful puff included, or you can use the Météorites Powder Brush.
At first glance, I thought the shades of the Eye and Blush Palette were similar to last year’s Night At The Opera Collection, but I was wrong. Where last year had a gold/neutral eyeshadow palette, this year the colors are pink (matte), gold, champagne, deep plum and brown (all iridescent). The blushes include two matte shades (rosewood and coral) and 2 pearlescent shades (pink and rose).
The Terracotta Collector Bronzing Powder is a good reminder to wear your bronzer year around! The Bronzing Powder is housed in a beautiful white (reusable) silicone sleeve that is adorned with sparkles reminiscent of snow. Guerlain introduced these silicone sleeves in the Summer Collection and they are so fun. Glad to see this gorgeous holiday version.
La Laque Nail Couleur in Nuit Merveilleuse (Electric Purple) is a regal way to finish your holiday look. I love Guerlain Nail Couleur; it wear well and the brush is excellent. This shade is a true electric purple with a blue-purple shimmer. It’s quite lovely.
The Limited-Edition Guerlain Holiday Collection for 2015, Winter Fairy Tale, is available in select department stores including Nordstrom, Sephora and Saks Fifth Avenue and on Guerlain.com. Although I do miss the inclusion of a fragrance, overall, this is a collection that really translates holiday. The Rouge G Collector Lipcolor is my pick for anyone looking for an absolutely fabulous and special gift…who wouldn’t love getting that?!
