Pestle&Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum

Recently launched in the U.S., Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is the brainchild of Sonia Deasy, who wanted a quick way to make her skin look – and feel – young and refreshed. Luckily, Sonia’s sister is a biochemist and the two set out to create a serum that would give photo-ready results.

When I first read about Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum, I was intrigued. Hyaluronic Acid isn’t a new skin care ingredient; many serums include it because it helps hold moisture in the skin. As someone who gets facials regularly, the most common issue an esthetician identifies with my skin is dehydration. So I’m always trying to find products that really work to address that. Over the years, I’ve tried many, but the main issue I have is that the serums are sticky.

When I received my sample of Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum, the first thing I noticed is the beautiful packaging (it has a very minimal, “Pottery Barn” aesthetic); the bottle itself is stunningly simple. In reading the label, I noted that the Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum contains ingredients such as Aloe Barbadensis Leaf, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycerin–all good for hydration. In addition, this serum is 100 % free of animal derived raw materials and organic solvent remnants, and is paraben-, propylene glycol-, and fragrance-free and never tested on animals.

The one thing I was looking for and didn’t see was alcohol, which can be drying and defeat the purpose of the hyaluronic acid in the first place.

Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is very lightweight and not sticky. I’ve been applying two drops in the morning and in the evening to clean skin. This serum absorbs almost instantly, which I love. And it literally leaves no residue or sticky feeling. You can follow with your regular moisturizer, if you choose. It’s not that often that I say I’m seriously hooked on a product, but I am with this Pure Hyaluronic Serum. It’s wonderful!

Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum ($69) is available at and in 14 Exhale Spa locations in the U.S. If you’re looking for a new skin care serum, Pestle & Mortar Pure Hyaluronic Serum is a brilliant choice!
