M·A·C invites us to transcend seasons with hues inspired by the secret, wondrous world of fairies. The Faerie Whispers Collection casts a spell in ethereal shades of pink, rose and pearly nudes. Who doesn’t love a fairy tale?
Highlights of the M·A·C Faerie Whispers Collection include:
New Foiled Shadows in eight shades ($20 each):
- Magic In Your Eyes – soft lilac
- Feminine Wiles – light pearly pink
- Sweet Illusion – light color neutral
- Fairy Land – warm champagne
- Enchanted Forest – warm rich brown
- Joy Toy – pink copper
- Faerie Fayre – mid-tone peach terracotta
- Fly By Twilight – taupe
I tried the Fly by Twilight Foiled Shadow, (above) which is a taupe shade. But what I love about it is that like a true taupe, it changes colors. Sometimes it looks grey, sometimes taupe, sometimes silver. Magical! The Foiled Shadows can be used wet or dry, and for the best pigmentation, I would recommend using with a damp brush. I thought Fly by Twilight was a gorgeous shade, and I loved the dimension of the tablet in the pan. Different than any other eyeshadow I’ve ever seen!
There are two Powder Blush shades: Cheek Pollen (warm nude/satin) and Spellbinder (shown above; pastel yellow-pink/satin). I’ve always loved M·A·C Blushes and found Spellbinder to have good pigmentation and color payoff.
The Faerie Whispers Beauty Powder ($22) in Pearl Sunshine (shown above; soft peach w/pink pearl) is a repromote, but still makes a lovely highlighting powder, especially for Spring.
Overall, Faerie Whispers is a very pretty collection, with many great options for those of use that love neutral colors. The one thing that struck me as a disconnect with this collection is the packaging. Considering the amazing job that M·A·C does with theming, I would have thought the packaging for this collection would have been a little more special.
The M·A·C Faerie Whispers Collection is available now in department stores including Nordstrom, and at maccosmetics.com. Will you be picking anything up?
