Have you ever thought about how many beauty tools you use in a day or week? When I first saw the “Favorite Beauty Tools” topic on the Makeup Wars schedule, it seemed I could only think of a couple. Then I checked myself during a day…and realized I use quite a few!
My favorite beauty tools that I reach for on a consistent, daily basis include:
My Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler: Since I use mascara on a daily basis, having the right eyelash curler is important. For year, I used the Shu Uemura; but then the refills became hard to find, so I had to move on. The Kevyn Aucoin was the next logical choice. The Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler is a quality beauty tool that doesn’t crimp or pinch, fits the shape of my eyes and is gentle. I’ve been using this one for years, and it’s the best!
I’ve recommended the MAC 217 Blending Brush many, many times and honestly, the first time I used it, I heard the angels sing! After seeing the MAC Pro Artists use this tool backstage at Fashion Week, I understood how essential using good makeup brushes—and especially using a Blender Brush is. My 217 Blender Brush gets used every day, is cleaned on a weekly basis and save for the imprint on the side, looks as new as the day I bought it. Love! You can find more of my favorite makeup brushes here.
The T3 Featherweight Compact Folding Dry hair dryer. Even though this is a foldable, travel hairdryer, once I started using it, I was hooked and put it into daily rotation. I like the small, lightweight size. It’s easy to handle, powerful, quiet and most important of all, it dries my hair quickly. Like most beauty tools, this is an investment, but to me, quality is everything.
Of course, I have a wish list. And that also comes from attending Fashion Week. I’ve seen celebrity hair stylist Harry Josh in action, and he’s amazing. He developed his own line of of pro hair tools, to resounding great reviews. Some day I will spring for the Harry Josh Professional Ceramic Styling Iron. The only reason I’m hesitating, is the fear that I will burn myself (the fear is real–I burn myself at least once a week).
