woman cleansing face

No matter how minimal your routine is, one of your everyday beauty essentials is a facial cleanser. I like to switch my cleanser up each season, and often use a different one morning to night. Depending on the season, my preferences for texture may change, depending on my skin’s needs.

Beauty Essential_Cleansers

The “Beauty Essential” series makes it’s debut today on Beauty411. We’ll showcase the best of the latest products; ones that we consider essential to our beauty regimen. It makes sense to start with cleansers, since clean, healthy skin is the cornerstone for any beauty look.

Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser

Bioré® is out with new Baking Soda Pore Cleanser. Great for oily or combination skins, the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser is a lightly scented dual-action liquid cleanser that deep cleans and exfoliates, leaving skin feeling soft, clean and smooth. My skin feels thoroughly cleansed without feeling dry or stripped.

Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Replenishing Cleansing Oil

For winter, my skin has been drier, so it was nice to try a cleansing oil. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Replenishing Cleansing Oil is formulated with a unique blend of botanical oils rich in Omega 3, 6, 9 and Vitamin E, plus Apricot, Safflower and Olive Oils. This cleanser effectively removes makeup, too. Ceramide Replenishing Cleansing Oil can be used by all skin types, and I didn’t feel a residue or experience any breakouts while using it.

Kate Somerville Exfolicate Foaming Cleanser

One of my favorite cleansers that I’ve tried is the Kate Somerville ExfoliKate® Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash. With Glycolic and Lactic Acids, plus Pineapple, Pumpkin and Papaya Enzymes, skin is mildly exfoliated with each use, keeping it glowing on a daily basis. This foaming cleanser didn’t irritate or leave my skin over-dry; instead it softens and conditions skin. Good for all skin types. I still use my ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment 2-3 times/week with no problems.

Kiehl's Calendula Foaming Face Wash

For normal, N/O or oily skin types, Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash is a gentle formula that deep cleans skin without stripping or leaving it feeling dry or taut. Formulated to clean without disturbing the skin barrier, this foaming cleanser is effective at removing makeup, soothing skin and keeping skin hydrated. OK to use for sensitive skins, too.

L'Oreal Paris Age Perfect Cleansing Cream

A really nice cleanser for mature skins (and I’m going to include normal or dry skins of any age), is the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect® Cream Cleanser . This lightly-fragranced creamy cleanser has replenishing oils, so that makeup removal is easy. Skin is left clean, soft and supple. You’d never be able to tell this was a drugstore cleanser!

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

If you’re a fan of Pixi’s Glow Tonic, then you’ll be thrilled to find out that there is now a Glow Mud Cleanser! This is one of the thicker cleansers I’ve ever used. It has a thick consistency, so that you can apply it to your face and let it sit for a few minutes (almost like a mask). The formula contains glycolic acid, so skin is exfoliated and cleansed. Once rinsed off, skin is clean, bright and conditioned. Good for all skin types. Nice to see that Pixi is adding skincare to their line!

TATCHA Polished Rice Enzyme Powder

If you have normal or combination skin, TATCHA’s Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder is a manual scrub that cleanses, tones and polishes. You mix a small amount into your hand, add water and then buff away dead skin cells and impurities. You will need to moisturize after using this cleanser. Great for travel or to throw into your gym bag. I also love the Pure One-Step Camellia Cleansing Oil, especially for winter!

TULA Purifying Cleanser

TULA Probiotic Skincare is based on a patented complex of probiotics and superfood ingredients to nourish and protect skin. You’re probably familiar with probiotics as something “good for you” to eat, as they’re in yogurt and other foods. Probiotics in skincare are a relatively new thing; more research needs to be done. The TULA Purifying Face Cleanser starts out as a gel, then works into a foaming lather, which deep cleans skin, so that it looks and feels fresh and soft. This is a very nice daily cleanser that doesn’t strip skin or irritate skin.

Clarisonic Mia Fit

My latest skincare obsession is the new Clarisonic Mia FIT. I’ve used various sizes of the Clarisonic devices in the past, and have recommended them many times. But the Mia FIT is my favorite! The small size is perfectly packable, portable and fits in the palm of my hand. The Radiance Brush head on the Mia FIT is ideally suited for all skin types, even sensitive skin. The Delicate Cleanse lasts 60 seconds and beeps to let you know when it’s time to change zones.
