Laura Mercier Paris After Rain Collection

For Spring, the Laura Mercier Paris After The Rain Collection is an expression of the reflection of lights on cobblestone streets and the dance of colours on zinc rooftops. The collection focuses on subdued, neutral shades in the eyeshadow palette, with two new shades of Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm.

Laura Mercier Paris After Rain Eyeshadow Palette

The star of the Laura Mercier Spring Colour Collection is the Paris After The Rain Palette.

The Paris After The Rain Palette has eight eyeshadow shades: four matte (left to right Champs-Élysée, Saint-Germain, Tour Eiffel, Le Marais) and four multi-chrome pearl shades: (left to right La Madeleine, Arc de Triomphe, Rue de Rivoli, Montmartre). I love that the eyeshadows are named after classic Paris institutions!

I previewed the Paris After The Rain Palette and it is lovely. I’m obsessed with the matte eyeshadows; they’re so pigmented, yet smooth as butter and a dream to wear. I was intrigued by the multi-chrome pearl shadows. They’re a cross between a duo-chrome and a glitter, but this being Laura Mercier, with good pigmentation and a flash that’s tasteful not garish. The colors of all the shadows are beautiful; my favorite in the entire palette is Tour Eiffel, appropriately, a steely grey. Gorgeous!

Laura Mercier Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm Spring 2016

Also in the Paris After The Rain Collection, two new shades of Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm in Rive Gauche (left, Rose Gold with Shimmer) and Rive Droite (right, Dusty Mauve with Shimmer). While I didn’t try these new shades, I have one in Sweet Guava (review) and the formula is wonderful. The perfect combination…the feel of a lip balm, the shine of a gloss and color coverage of a lipstick. I wouldn’t hesitate to pick up Rive Gauche; it’s so pretty for any time of year!

The Laura Mercier Paris After The Rain Collection is in department stores now, and available on LauraMercier.com. What are your thoughts on the collection? Love it or plan to pass?
