Pop culture often plays a role in a designer’s inspiration. Nobody can reinterpret pop culture into something fun and whimsical like Moschino Creative Director Jeremy Scott. The new Moschino Fresh Couture fragrance takes the mundane household cleaner, adds fresh, perfect-for-spring notes and transforms the concept into something fabulous!
There are so many winks to “high-low” in Moschino Fresh Couture. The outer box, elegant white with a gold band gives the impression that you’re opening a luxury fragrance. Upon the reveal, however, you almost do a double take when you see the whimsical “cleaning bottle” within. You can’t help but smile. But as with all fragrances, it’s the juice inside that counts.
Moschino Fresh Couture is best described as a fruity floral. With notes of citrus–mandarin, bergamot and ylang ylang, it translates as fresh right off the top. The heart of the Fresh Couture has notes of raspberry, white peony and osmanthus. Mixed with the citrus notes, it’s quite pretty. The fragrance is grounded with base notes of cedar woods, white patchouli and ambrox. I love the crisp bite of the citrus notes, the mix of florals and the more woody base notes. It’s a fragrance that would make a great gift and the bottle, of course, is a brilliant conversation piece.
Moschino Fresh Couture Eau de Toilette is available now at Bloomingdales; the 3.4 oz. size is $82. Do you love it or plan to pass? Let me know!
