Another New York Fashion Week is in the books and as always, several key beauty trends have emerged for Autumn-Winter 2016. As I scrolled through my Instagram feed and read through runway recaps, these are the trends that caught my eye. It’s never too early to start perfecting your game!
While graphic eyes have been a look we’ve seen in past seasons, for Fall, they’ve added a twist. A simple, more deconstructed eye look featuring eyeliner on the waterline. A waterproof eyeliner is a must for this technique; watch for the new MAC Kajal Liner (coming out in early March). At Herve Leger, Val Garland used a Chromagraphic Pencil in Black Black (you could also use Technakohl Liner in Superfly), while at Anna K, Maybelline used the Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Sapphire; Sleek Onyx was used at Baja East.
The bold lip look just won’t go away. If you haven’t gotten on board yet, it’s definitely time. The look was seen at the Zac Posen show (MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in High Drama), Rodarte (NARS Audacious Lipstick in Liv) and Marissa Webb (Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lip Color, coming June 2016). As always, there were plenty of inspiring hair looks, but one trend I thought interesting was the use of the headband as ornamentation. Ted Gibson for L’OrealProfessionnel composed the look at Carmen Marc Valvo and Pamella Roland using the headband as a modern, textural hair accessory. So pretty!
