It’s fitting that we kick off the first day of summer with the CHANEL Dans La Lumiere de L’Ete Collection. Inspired by a shimmering desert oasis, the focus is on sunswept shades of coppers and sandy browns for eyes, while pinks and oranges sparkle on the lips.

I love the CHANEL seasonal collections; always the most gorgeous colors and textures. The Dans La Lumiere de L’Ete Collection is no exception; this time taking us to the summer desert. The colors are neutral, so that you can wear them year ’round. I especially love the Les Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow for that reason. The pigmentation and color palette in this eyeshadow quad is what you’d expect from CHANEL, although due to it’s texture there was some falloff. Gorgeous, nonetheless.
I have also been a huge fan of anything in the Les Beiges range, and this season’s Healthy Glow Multi-Colour combines a contour and blush shade. I have the No. 1 Powder shade and love it because it gives the right amount of sun-kissed glow. The powder itself is finely milled and applies like a dream.
The Glossimers are bright and the perfect pop of color for lips. My favorite shade is 610 Sahara; I love a peach or coral lippie for summer, and this one has gold reflects in it to capture the light even more.
The Le Vernis shades are also a beautiful finishing touch to your summer look. I looked through previous collections to see if there were dupes to this season’s releases, and although there are similarities, the shades are different. I didn’t have anything even close to Emeraude. It’s a leafy-green shade with gold shimmer. Gorgeous!
The CHANEL Dans La Lumiere de L’Ete Collection for Summer 2016 is available in department stores now, and on CHANEL.com. Will you be wearing these desert-inspired shades this summer?
