It seems fitting that on National Lipstick Day I’m sharing one of the prettiest lip collections I’ve seen…ever! The bareMinerals GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection is out, and it’s 60 shades of gorgeous!
Getting a “nude” shade right isn’t easy, but bareMinerals has nailed it. They recognize that a pink-nude shade that looks beautiful and natural on you, might completely wash me out. That’s why there are 60 shades of lipstick and lipgloss in the bareMinerals GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection, in 4 color ranges (mauves, pinks, peaches and beiges). Yes, finally, a collection that enables you to find the *perfect* nude for you!
There are four products in the GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection:
- GEN NUDE™ Radiant Lipstick (20 shades, satin finish, $20)
- GEN NUDE™ Buttercream Lipgloss (9 high gloss shades, 6 shimmer shades, $18)
- GEN NUDE™ Matte Liquid Lipcolor (20 shades, $18)
- GEN NUDE™ Under Over™ Lip Liner (5 shades, $16)
I’ve been fortunate to be able to preview the bareMinerals GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection, and it’s honestly amazing. The colors and formulas are perfection. If you’ve been a fan of the Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick, I think you’ll like the GEN NUDE™ Radiant Lipsticks. The finish is very natural with creamy, satin, medium, buildable coverage (Marvelous Moxie™ Lipstick is creamy/satin, too, but full coverage). The shades I tried were Bubbles, Honeybun and Tutu.
Also in the GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection are the Under Over™ Lip Liners. There are 5 shades that coordinate with the color families of the Lip Collection. I tried the On Point Lip Liner; the color is perfect for me. A terracotta rose color with a matte finish. Application is flawless for a lip liner; very smooth and blendable, with a bit of “play” time before it sets.
The Matte Liquid Lipglosses have saturated color and are comfortable to wear. I think the amount of pigmentation you see is somewhat dependent on the color. The Matte Liquid Lipgloss isn’t drying–it’s a lightweight cream-to-matte formula. I tried Weekend, Frenemy, and Wink. Although I generally don’t wear many matte liquid glosses, I have found through testing that you need to let the formula set for best wear and coverage.
The Buttercream Lipglosses are a sheer, plumping formula (without the sting!) that can be built up for more coverage, if you want. Both Lipglosses have a slight vanilla taste/scent; I like it. I tried Far Out, Fancy (which has a shimmer), and Forbidden. The pigmentation and wear time is good. The creamy formula has good color payoff.
Overall, I’ve been very impressed with the bareMinerals GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection. If you’ve been in search of “the perfect nude”, chances are you’ll find it here. You can find the bareMinerals GEN NUDE™ Lip Collection in various retailers including Sephora, ULTA Beauty and bareminerals.com. Have you tried anything from this line yet?
