If you like tons of variety and options in your makeup, you need to be on board with Makeup Revolution. It’s easy to get sucked into the “palette of the day” releases by beauty brands. But at an average of $45 and up each…that can get expensive fast.
Enter Makeup Revolution USA. This brand creates palettes of every configuration and color combination…often inspired by the more expensive versions, but at a fraction of the price. I’ve tried four Makeup Revolution palettes: two eyeshadow, a highlighter and a blush palette. In a crowded makeup market it’s hard to break through, but these palettes are standouts. Let’s take a look:
The New-Trals vs Neutrals Palette ($10) has 16 eyeshadows, similar tones to other rose-gold palettes out there. There are various textures including matte, shimmer and satin finishes. There is a double-ended brush included. Overall, the size and quality of the eyeshadow tablets are good; they’re blendable with good pigmentation. There are a few shades that are too pink-based for my complexion, but for $10, I think this is a worthwhile addition to your makeup collection.
The Flawless 2 Ultra 32 Eyeshadow Palette ($15) is a gorgeous palette. The eyeshadow shades run more cool-toned, and over half are neutrals. There are various finishes including matte, satin and shimmer. On the whole, the pigmentation is good, the shadows are blendable and easy to work with. They have a nice creamy texture–even the shimmers. I got great wear time, too. Would easily recommend this palette!
With highlighting and illuminating so popular, the Radiance Palette ($15) immediately caught my eye. This palette has three generously-sized highlighters: Breathe, Exhale and Glow. While it looks stunning, I found the tablets to be a little drier and less pigmented than I would have liked. With that said, I do like that the effect is more “glow” than glitter. if you’re looking for a very subtle effect, or are fair-skinned, this might be a good find for you.
As someone who cannot resist a blush, I was excited to see the Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette ($10). This palette has 8 nicely sized (1 1/4″) blushes, with 6 shimmer textures and 2 mattes. To me, this palette feels more like a highlighting/contouring palette than necessarily a “blush” palette. As far as pigmentation, some of the shades are better than others. There is quite a bit of sparkle in the shimmers. The colors are blendable and these shades will work on a variety of skin tones. At $10, this is palette gives you plenty of choices.
Overall, I think Makeup Revolution makes a good product at a decent price point. If you’re someone that likes to have the latest on-trend makeup look without making a large investment, I would recommend Makeup Revolution.
