With endless amounts of selfies, Instagram and Facebook updates taking place daily, the need for gorgeous, glowing skin has never been greater. M·A·C’s new Next to Nothing Collection, which consists of a new face colour and pressed powder, gives you the barely-there, no-makeup-makeup look you want!
Next to Nothing Face Colour ($31) has the look of a foundation, but that’s where the similarity ends, in my opinion. There is a light, almost springy texture that makes the Next to Nothing Face Colour very easy to apply. The formula is is nourishing, and has opalescent microsphere for a luminous glow. It feels silky on the skin.
I tried two shades of Next to Nothing Face Colour, Light Plus (left) and Medium (middle). I’m usually in the NC25 range, and Light Plus is the perfect shade for me. It should be noted that this isn’t a foundation; in fact, you can wear Next to Nothing Face Colour under or over foundation. For me, it’s perfect worn alone. The Light Plus shade is the most perfect match I’ve ever had in a M·A·C face makeup, and I love it. The Next to Nothing Face Colour is a sheer, tinted cream formula that feels good on the skin, wears well and gives a “light plus”, glowy coverage. For application, you can use your fingers, the 141 Fan Brush, or a sponge. I didn’t experience any oxidation in the multiple times I tested and wore this product. At this time there are 9 shades available.
Also in the collection is Next to Nothing Pressed Powder ($27), which is the perfect complement to the Next to Nothing Face Colour. The formula is lightweight, smooth and gives a soft-focused glow. In my experience, I didn’t find it to settle into pores; it’s oil-free, too. I would call the coverage “light”; I noticed when applied over my highlighter, there was still enough transparency as to not hide the glow. Like the Next to Nothing Face Colour, I didn’t experience oxidation with this Pressed Powder. My shade was the same, Light Plus, in the Pressed Powder. There are 9 total shades available.
Overall, I give M·A·C’s Next to Nothing Face Colour and Next to Nothing Pressed Powder high marks. You can find these new releases in department stores, including Nordstrom and at maccosmetics.com. Is this a collection that you’ll be checking out?
