While I’m a huge advocate of using makeup brushes on the daily, I confess…when I apply a foundation, it’s generally with my fingers. Now that Clarisonic has introduced the Sonic Foundation Brush Head, that’s all changed.

I already use a Clarisonic daily for cleansing my skin. So when I was sent one of the new Sonic Foundation Brush heads to try, I thought “that’s interesting”. It’s super easy to use…just cleanse skin first with your Clarisonic, then switch out the cleansing head from your device and pop on the Sonic Foundation Brush head. The Sonic Foundation Brush is compatible with all Clarisonic cleansing devices, so no need to buy anything other than the head. The brush uses patented sonic oscillation technology to buff…infinitely better than your fingers.

To do your makeup, dot foundation onto your face, then starting at the lowest setting on the Clarisonic, glide the brush in circular motions around your face. As I’ve worked with this brush, I notice that I seem to use less product than I normally would. For areas like under the eye or inner corners, I still prefer to use a small brush (or sponge).  If you tend to use a thicker cream or liquid foundation (like the IT Cosmetics foundations), you might want to increase the speed of your device.

You can use the Sonic Foundation Brush on liquid or cream foundations, contour, concealer, BB/CC creams, cream blushes and color correcting primers. Basically most cream or liquid makeup products. This brush is not designed to be used with powder makeup. I wouldn’t have thought that an airbrushed finish would be this easy!

I’m a big advocate of keeping my makeup brushes clean, and the Sonic Foundation Brush wins in that department, too. The bristles are synthetic and anti-microbial; when you’re done using, clean with a daily brush cleaner. You can deep clean with brush shampoo and water as needed. Dry on a towel.

The Clarisonic Foundation Brush is definitely worth checking out; you can find it at ULTA Beauty and Clarisonic.com. Is this something that you’d use?
