A beach scent is my own tropical getaway in a bottle. During the winter, I spritz one to remind myself that summer will eventually get here. In the summer, it’s a laid back, sensual daily indulgence.

There’s something about the scent of water, sand and salt, mixed in with a hint of floral that I can’t live without. It’s like a beauty nectar for me. Come summer, I want ALLLLLL the beach smells…these are my favorites!

Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk is described as “sun kissed salty skin”. It’s that scent of just coming out of the water, sand and salt on your skin. Gorgeous! The notes of this fragrance include bergamot, lemon, pink pepper, ylang-ylang with a soft, musky drydown. If I could bottle the smell of a walk on the beach, this would be it. This is a beautifully composed fragrance that lingers and gets prettier as you wear it. In addition to the large size, this is availailable in a Rollerball (I’m on my third!), for easy portability. Love this one!

With top notes of Tunisian Neroli, Italian Bergamot and Sicilian Lemon, Tom Ford Neroli Portofino opens with crisp, citrus notes before drying down to a woody, amber finish.  It conjures up the Italian Riviera (this is Tom Ford, after all) and has been a favorite of mine for years. My current version is the All Over Body Spray. The Body Spray is a lighter way to wear the fragrance; I love spritzing this on right out of the shower or layering with the fragrance.

I can always count on philosophy for pleasing scents that are easy to wear; never too heavy. Pure Grace Summer Surf is this summer’s limited-edition. As far as the scent of the beach, Philosophy has nailed it with this fresh fragrance. It’s the perfect blend of Sea Spray Accord and Tiare; a beachy floral fragrance. I also get a slight hint of coconut. If you like to layer your fragrances, start with the Softening Cleanser for Hair and Body in the shower, follow with the fragrance or the Hair & Body Refresher.

Did you know Urban Decay is out with a new fragrance? They are, and it’s beach-inspired! Urban Decay’s Wende Zomnir is a native Californian, so she wanted a scent that smelled like fresh-from-surfing, sun-dried skin. Go Naked Perfume Oil Rollerball has notes of lavendar, orange blossom, lemon, neroli and sea salt, with a musky dry down. I love that it’s the perfect size to tuck into your purse. From the minute you put it on, it’s sheer tropical bliss. It’s a limited-edition release, but I hope Urban Decay makes this a permanent part of the line.

I’ve gushed over Bobbi Brown Beach, the OG beach fragrance, for years. This classic summer fragrance is a blend of sand jasmine, sea spray, and mandarin. This wears slightly more floral on me than the other fragrances. I honestly think I’ve bought just about every iteration, from the original fragrance, to body lotion, scrub, hand wash and taking the way-back machine now…the Sandbar Soap. Nothing but love for Beach!

If you like summery fragrances that have more coconut/Coppertone/beach notes, then I highly recommend Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Eau de Parfum (review), which is also available in an All Over Body Spray, and Sol de Janiero Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist (review), which is sexy, summer heat in a spray!

Do you have a favorite summer fragrance? I’d love for you to share it with me!
