Despite the amount of caffeine most of us consume on the daily, our eyes usually look a hot mess. Who couldn’t benefit from a little eye love? If you’ve got dark circles, puffiness, fine lines or wrinkles around the eyes, or you just want to try something new, these eye creams are tried, tested and recommended!
I’m constantly searching for new eye creams; if there’s a holy grail, one of these days I’m going to find it. I tend to like the multi-tasking, fix more than one issue kind of eye cream, because it seems like rarely does a person only have one concern.
I love the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior anti-aging range, so it made sense to me that they would add an eye cream to the franchise. The new Kate Somerville’s Wrinkle Warrior Eye Visible Dark Circle Eraser uses three sizes of Hyaluronic Acid molecules; so in addition to being an excellent moisturizer, it works on diminishing eye-area wrinkles and plumping up the skin around the eyes. In addition, I found it to help with my dark circles and helped the overall appearance in my eye area. Love!
belif First Aid 360 Eye Care Mask is a light, gel-not-quite-solid eye treatment for puffiness, dark circles, while offering intense hydration. When I saw it called a “mask”, I thought it might be heavy, but not at all. It’s light, cooling and refreshing, making this a perfect eye treatment for summer. It’s recommended to be used as the last step of your skincare routine; apply to the pressure points around the eye area and massage in. I found it to be very effective at reducing my under-eye puffiness; it’s also amazingly hydrating and full of antioxidants.
For serious hydration, firming and smoothing, Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin E Eye Balm is a great choice. It’s thick like a balm, so you need to warm it a little before application. The Vitamin E Eye Balm blends Vitamin E, shea butter, pomegranate and sea kelp, with a slight herbal scent. It’s made of 100% natural, organic ingredients certified by EcoCert. You can use AM or PM, but is especially restorative at night. A little goes a long way! I noticed almost immediate improvement in hydration, so for dry skins, this is a good find.
If you’re an outdoor lover, then having an eye cream with SPF in it is a must. Origins A Perfect World SPF 20 Age Defense Eye Cream with White Tea has both Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide, for a physical sunscreen. The formula defends the eye area against environmental aggressors in addition to offering UV protection, plus the antioxidants help to brighten. I didn’t experience any irritation with use; it’s recommended for normal, dry or oily skin types. This one is a bit thick, but it does keep the eye area hydrated and protected with a broad spectrum sunscreen.
Well Within’s Planted in Beauty is a new plant-based skincare line. I’ve been using the Eye Firming Complex to depuff and brighten. This effective eye cream has really helped with undereye puffiness and all over improvement in my eye area. If you’re looking for a rich eye cream without worrying about parabens and many other issues, this line is completely free of chemicals and toxins. You’re getting a luxe formula and gorgeous packaging, too, as the line’s co-founders were previously with La Prairie!
I love IT Cosmetics, particularly their skin care. So when they introduced Confidence in an Eye Cream, I couldn’t wait to try it. The formula has caffeine in it, to help tired eyes look more awake, peptides and collagen to help smooth lines and wrinkles, Hyaluronic Acid and Squalane for hydration and Licorice for brightening. It has a nice feel to it; it’s not heavy or greasy. I like to mix this with Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer, to perfect the under-eye area. This is a companion product to the Confidence In a Cream Moisturizer. Like that, a little bit goes a long way!
Remember that it’s always best to apply an eye cream by lightly massaging or tapping the area around the orbital bone using your ring finger.
