When M.A.C drops an entire collection of nude lipsticks in a collaboration with Nicki Minaj, you sit up and take notice! As if neutrals couldn’t get any hotter, the M.A.C x Nicki Minaj Collection consists of two lipsticks that Nicki created, plus 18 lipsticks and 6 Lipglass shades (some new, some repromotes) that are instantly chic and wearable.

M.A.C has collaborated with Nicki Minaj twice before, on a Viva Glam lipstick and before that, on a Pink Friday lipstick. This time out, Nicki designed two subtle lipsticks, The Pinkprint, a mid-tone creamy pink and Nicki’s Nude, a soft, coral-pink, which is a bit deeper. These two lipsticks are given special pink cases with Nicki’s autograph appearing on the outside. The remainder of the lipsticks appear in the traditional M.A.C black case.

I received a selection of lipsticks from the M.A.C x Nicki Minaj Collection including:

The Pinkprint – mid-tone creamy pink (Amplified)
A Girl’s Got Needs – warm-toned yellow brown (Matte)
Among the Fireflies – soft mocha (Cremesheen)
Baby’s All Right – cool-toned neutral pink (Matte)
Derrière – dirty mid-tone yellow brown (Matte)
Easy Babe – dirty latte brown (Matte)
Mmmmmmm – dirty rose nude (Amplified)
Stripped – light, dirty peachy beige (Matte)
The Right Note – warm sandy nude (Cremesheen)
Under the Sheets Lipglass – light nude with gold pearl (below)

As you can see, the lipstick shades in the M.A.C x Nicki Minaj Collection are just beautiful. These are the perfect color lip colors to pair with everything from jeans to a cashmere sweater.  I love that M.A.C put together shades with a variety of undertones, so that a diverse range of skin tones can find the perfect nude for them. Finding the right nude can be tricky, and believe me, I have a drawer full of nude lipstick mistakes.

With my coloring, I need to wear shades that have a bit of pink in them, otherwise I tend to look washed out. As a general rule, to find the right shade of nude, go one shade deeper than your natural complexion, or one shade deeper than the inside of your lips. So my picks from this collection are Among the Fireflies, Baby’s All Right and Mmmmmmm. Pigmentation is creamy, with good color payoff…it’s just hard to find fault with M.A.C’s lipstick formulas.

The M.A.C x Nicki Minaj Collection is available now; look for it in department stores including Nordstrom, and maccosmetics.com. This is an easy collection to fall for…are you picking any up?
