CHANEL introduces the exclusive Noir et Or Paris-Shanghai Collection; a sophisticated foray into black and gold, created for and inspired by, the fashion runways:
For the “METIER D’ART” fashion show in
Shanghai, Peter Philips, Global Creative Director of CHANEL Makeup, created
an exclusive collection, NOIR ET OR (Black and Gold). This collection is a glamorous fantasy
of Shanghai in the 30’s and 40’s as Coco Chanel herself may have imagined
it. The black and gold eyes and nails complimented the gilded and jet black
accents shown on the runway.
The CHANEL NOIR ET OR Paris-Shanghai Collection includes:
- For eyes: Ligne et Ombre de Chanel in Jet-Gold – Matte black eyeliner and sparkling gold eyeshadow $45
- For nails: Le Vernis Nail Colour in Black Velvet (Matte), Gold Lamé (Satin) and Illusion d‘or (transparent sparkling gold nail color). Each $25
This is a such a dramatic and striking collection; I think the standout product for me is definitely the eyeshadow/liner duo. Although Chanel nail colours are among my top favorites, without seeing this nail collection in person, the only color I'd be thinking of ordering is the Illusion d‘or. I think the finish on that one sounds interesting.
There are two recent Chanel makeup collections that have had gold nails; Tokyo Happening from last summer (Galactic Touch) and the Fall 2008 collection had Gold Fiction. So I'd have to see this collection in person to determine how these two golds were different. I do think the manicure, as pictured above, looks very elegant.
The CHANEL NOIR ET OR Paris-Shanghai Collection will be available this month in limited release, exclusively at www.CHANEL.com,
CHANEL boutiques and CHANEL Makeup Studios.
