This summer has been so hot, that I’ve found myself reaching less for fragrance and more for the subtle scent of body products. The David Yurman Limited Edition Dusting Powder has found it’s way onto my vanity and into my morning grooming ritual.
I have to say I was pre-disposed to love this product, because David Yurman is my favorite jewelry designer. The substantial glass jar that this dusting powder comes in is exquisite in it’s design. The faceted, gold cushion cut cover is bordered by the a cable pattern reminiscent of the David Yurman jewelry line. Inside, the powder shimmers faintly with gold, just waiting to be applied with the velvet puff. Every ounce of the presentation screams “rich and fabulous!”
The David Yurman fragrance is a classic floral chypre; with notes of patchouli and floral essences of peony and rose. I actually prefer the lighter version in the dusting powder. If you’re someone who loves scented body products, this might be one to try out. I also think this would be a fantastic gift.
David Yurman Limited Edition Dusting Powder retails at $80 and is available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, David Yurman Boutiques and www.davidyurman.com.
$80.00 for dusting powder? That’s ridiculous. I don’t care how pretty it smells or how lovely the jar is. It is still just powder. To me it is a matter of priorities. No matter how much money I had, and I could afford this if I wanted to, I would never spend $80.00 on powder. I think the cosmetics industry is taking us. Maybe we should strive to feel good about ourselves in other more meaningful ways.
Of course you are entitled to your opinion on how you evaluate value before making any purchase, cosmetics or otherwise. When I worked in cosmetics, I learned to respect everyone’s right to spend their money as they saw fit. This product is no different; while you may choose not to purchase it, there are many who might well want to have the information. Thanks for stopping by!
