A first in prestige cosmetics, Clinique has launched new Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology, a foundation specifically designed to address facial redness in skins with mild to moderate Rosacea. While not limited to use by people with Rosacea (a skin condition characterized by a red and blotchy appearance, facial flushing, and/or increased skin temperature), this makeup can benefit anyone who has skin sensitivity issues that result in facial redness.
I have been waging my own battle with skin sensitivity as a result of the demands of skincare testing. As a result, I sometimes experience redness and broken capillaries. I was anxious to try the Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology on my own skin. I received a sample in Calming Neutral – 04, which was a very good match for my skin.
At first, the foundation seemed heavier in texture than what I usually use on my face, probably because of the Titanium Dioxide sunscreen added to the formula. This foundation has good pigmentation and works into your skin easily. It covers the redness and broken capillaries beautifully, but without feeling like you have a mask on.
Clinique uses a formula that includes neutralizing pearls with a yellow-green undertone to correct and camouflage redness and incorporates Probiotic Technology, an extract of cultured lactobacillus plantarum, to improve skin’s barrier strength. If you have redness or blotchiness in your skin and have been frustrated with foundations, this is one you might want to try.
Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup SPF 15 with Probiotic Technology retails at $24.50 and is available at Clinique Counters nationwide and at Clinique.com.
